listen as a Club
youth asks Phelps a
question. |
Michael
Phelps, 14-time Olympic gold
medalist, took time out of his
busy schedule to talk with youth
at the Warren/Holyfield Boys & Girls
Club, a unit of the Boys & Girls
Clubs of Metro Atlanta, on Sept. 24. His
support of Clubs extends beyond
Georgia -- Phelps has been
touring Clubs across the country
to encourage youth to be active
and inspire them to stay in
school.
At the Atlanta
Club,
Phelps helped kids with their
homework, shook hands with
excited Club fans and fielded
tough interview questions from MyClubMyLife reporter Ayana
Wade. Following the
Warren/Holyfield BGC visit,
Phelps dropped by Boys & Girls
Clubs of America's national
headquarters, where his moving
message to the cheering crowd
was, "It's all about the kids."
Phelps shook hands and shared a
joke with BGCA President and CEO
Roxanne Spillett and signed his name on
his picture from BGCA's 2003
"Where's Your Card?" marketing
campaign.
