Several orders have been placed already, and are being shipped to vendors nationwide. Visit ACA's Say It Big Web page to view a map of advertising placements as they are confirmed.

The
American Camp Association Announces
Nationwide Outdoor Advertising Campaign
Indianapolis, IN (January 6, 2010) – The
American Camp Association® (ACA) is
proud to announce the launch of a nationwide
outdoor advertising campaign as part of
the Because
of Camp…™ public
service announcement. These billboards,
posters, and transit shelter advertisements
will depict successful adults sharing how
their lives have been positively affected
by the camp experience, including appearances
by Emma Roberts, Hill Harper, Lisa
Loeb, Justin Chambers, James Pickens, and
Blair Underwood.
"The Because of Camp…™ advertising
campaign will share positive camp messages
with millions of families. The benefits
of camp extend further than child or youth
development. Camp, and the positive experiences
of camp, shape and define us as successful
adults. Camp has changed many lives, introduced
people to new skills and competencies,
and broadened horizons and ability to contribute
to a global community," said Peg
L. Smith, ACA’s chief executive officer.
ACA is honored to have been named a National
Public Service Partner with the Outdoor
Advertising Association of America, Inc.
(OAAA). As a partner, ACA receives pro
bono space for its campaigns on a variety
of outdoor advertising formats. The industry
donates millions each year to local and
national nonprofit groups.
"Helping
young people should be a mission for all
Americans, and the outdoor advertising
industry is looking forward to supporting
this campaign,"
said Stephen Freitas, OAAA Chief Marketing
Officer. "As a 'camp kid' myself,
I know the value of these experiences."
Each
year, camp provides ten million children
with the opportunity to connect
with nature,
to participate in human-powered
activities,
and to benefit from personal and primary
relationships. Because of Camp...™ so
much is possible.
This PSA Campaign is
made possible, in part, by generous funding
from the Legacy Fund, Lilly Endowment
Inc., and member support.
